Registration for the promotional 2018 Ginky Family Run that takes place every year together with the Firenze Marathon is now open. This year, the run will take place on Saturday afternoon, with start time at 15:30 on November 24 (the run will no longer be held on Sunday morning at the same time as the marathon). Registration is officially open, and as always, it is free for children under 14 and 10 euro for adults. All proceeds will go to the charitable organizations that participate in the event. The day and location are both changing: the 3km run will take place in the Cascine. It is completely organized by volunteers for the Firenze Marathon, and will start and end at the race village in Piazza Gui, in front of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, just a few meters from the new location of the Marathon Expo at the Stazione Leopolda. Music, games, concerts, distribution of race gadgets, and many stands will ignite the village with excitement, where, on the same morning, the 3×7 relay will also be held. There will also be many stands from the various charities benefitting from the events.
All participants, children and adults, will receive official shirts from the event.
Every year this event involves around 1500 people, and is open to all: adults, children, parents, singles, friends of marathon runners, elementary and middle schoolers.
